What does “AI by text message” mean?

Instead of opening a website or mobile application, you interact with the AI through the same SMS feature used for ordinary text messages. You send a question to a phone number, the service processes the request, and the answer arrives as a text.

This is useful when mobile data is weak, expensive, unavailable, or turned off; when installing another app is inconvenient; or when you are using a basic phone that can send and receive SMS but cannot run modern AI applications.

How to ask AI a question by SMS

  1. Open your phone’s text messaging app. No special AI application is required.
  2. Start a message to (979) 243-6763. This is AIForMe’s U.S. SMS number.
  3. Type a complete question. For example: “Explain compound interest simply” or “Translate this sentence into Spanish.”
  4. Receive the answer by text. Reply with a follow-up question when you want clarification or a more specific response.

When is AI through SMS useful?

Weak mobile data

SMS may still work in places where a data connection is too unreliable to load an AI website or app.

Any compatible phone that can send ordinary SMS can use the service without running a modern smartphone application.

Travel and field work

Text access can be simpler when you are moving, working away from Wi-Fi, or intentionally limiting mobile data use.

Does AI by text message work without internet?

You do not need a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection on your phone to send an ordinary SMS. AIForMe receives your text, uses online AI services on the back end, and returns the response by SMS.

Important: You still need cellular SMS service. The service will not work in a location with no cellular connection at all.

Limitations and privacy

AI-generated answers can occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. Do not rely on an SMS AI assistant as a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency assistance.
